This & That

I’ll give you another example why the King James Bible’s italic words are inspired by the Holy Ghost and often provide advanced revelations.

In Matthew 9:13 and 12:7 our Lord Jesus Christ quoted Hosea 6:6.  In Matt. 9:13 He said “that meaneth” and in Matt. 12:7 He said “this meaneth”.  The reason we have a difference here is because in the first case Jesus was referring to the written word, but in the next instance He was making the written word a rhema word!  And the King James translators helped you see both applications.

The Holy Ghost shows you the same thing through St. Matthew’s and St. Luke’s account of Jesus’ quotation of Deut. 6:16 in Matt. 4:7 and Luke 4:12.

Also, in Matt. 4:4, Jesus quoted the italicized “word” in Deut. 8:3.
