Against wine (or
alcohol): Part 1
· "Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:" (Leviticus 10:9)
· "He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried." (Num. 6:3)
· "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." (Prov. 20:1)
· "He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich." (Prov. 21:17)
· "Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags." (Prov. 23:20-21)
· "Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast." (Prov. 23:29-34)
· "As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools." (Prov. 26:9)
· "It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more." (Prov. 31:4-7)
· "Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!" (Is. 5:11)
·
"Woe unto them that are mighty to drink
wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink" (Is.
· "But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment." (Is. 28:7)
· “Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court.” (Ezek. 44:21)
· “For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.” (Obad. 16)
· "If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people." (Mic. 2:11)
· "Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness! Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD's right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory." (Hab. 2:15-16)
· "For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children." (Matt. 11:18-19)
· "For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb." (Luke 1:15)
· "For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil. The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! But wisdom is justified of all her children." (Luke 7:33-35)
· "Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." (I Cor. 6:10)
· "Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Gal. 5:21)
·
"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess;
but be filled with the Spirit;" (Eph.
· “For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries” (1 Pet. 4:3)
· “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Pet. 5:8)
· "Do that to no man which thou hatest: drink not wine to make thee drunken: neither let drunkenness go with thee in thy journey." (Tobit 4:15)
Against
Wine: Part 2
Another reason why Christ didn't make or drink alcoholic wine is because the Holy One repudiated those malicious charges in Matthew 11:19 & Luke 7:34-35.
Also when you read about God's wrath against the winepress and the whore's wine of fornication you'll rightfully divide the Word of Truth and understand that Christ's wrath is against such.

“Leaven” refers to yeast. And yeast is a substance used in fermentation—the process in which alcohol is made. Therefore Apostle
Paul warned about alcohol, even a tiny bit, in 1 Cor. 5:6-7 and Gal. 5:9. It’s interesting that in those same Pauline
Epistles (1 Corinthians and Galatians), both very near the same passages, we
are told drunkards will not inherit the kingdom of God (see 1 Cor. 6:9-10; Gal.

Ever read about the Rechabites in Jeremiah 35? They were promised an eternal lineage from God because they didn’t drink wine like their father told them. (see Jer. 35:18-19)

I remember Bro. Ruckman saying
something like ‘Once you start contracting clear passages on law or doctrine
with obscure, objectionable, and unclear passages—you’ve had it.’ That’s exactly what drunkards do with John 2
to justify their drinking sins and Catholics do with the institution of the
Lord’s Supper to justify their blasphemous mass. I’ll admit, in John 2 it is not completely
clear whether or not Jesus created fermented or
unfermented wine. But if you’re going to
‘play it safe’ and be conservative: you have better recognize that Jesus Christ
was called HOLY AND SINLESS by His apostles in the New Testament (see 2 Cor.

Against alcohol from First Corinthians... In chapter 6 you’re told “drunkards” won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Then in chapter 8 the Apostle warns Christians to not misuse their liberty to do ‘offensive’ things (like drinking—and let me tell you honey, look at part 1 of these ‘Against wine’ files and you’ll see plenty of scriptures to see that alcohol is offensive to the Holy Spirit [plus, I noticed a lot more scriptures in the Bible about it lately]). Next, in chapters 10-11 you are told about the Lord’s Supper: and you should be judging yourself and repenting of wine drinking before you come to the table of the Lord, because “ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils” (1 Cor. 10:21). I hate to say it, but there are people in the family, that attend churches, and I’m sure they take communion, and God has every right to judge them for their drinking according to His word.
You don’t think devils are behind the alcohol the heathen drink? (see 1 Cor. 10:20) They’ve been drinking ‘Fireball’ at MQGC which has a picture of a fire-breathing demon on the bottle. Well, I got news for them; they’re going to get a ‘fireball’ from the Lord according to 2 Thess. chapter 1.

"For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you" (1 Pet. 4:3-4)
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Pet. 5:8)
A lot of these Laodiceans wouldn't have a chance to stand against the devil (see Eph. 6), how much less of a shot do they have if they're drunk? Duh, that's why the devil wants them drunk, so he can easily beat them down.
I may have one lion (1 Pet. 5:8) after me, but I’ve got another Lion (Rev. 5:5) protecting me.
· Born-again Christians are “kings and priests” (Rev. 1:6), therefore we should drink no wine: because Lev. 10:9, Ezek. 44:21, and Prov. 31:4 forbid kings and priests from drinking wine
· This is also why Jesus Christ didn’t drink wine, because He also is a, yea THE King (see Rev. 17 & 19) and THE Priest (see Heb. 7); AND He never sinned (the sinless Saviour [see Heb. 7:26; 1 Pet. 2:22]).

¶ In Joel 3:18 and Amos 9:13 the Holy Spirit prophesies about the farming conditions during the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ. The Spirit says the mountains will bring forth “new wine” and “sweet wine”. (The marginal note at Amos 9:13 in the original 1611 reads “Or, new wine.” And that marginal note at Amos 9:13 also has a cross-reference to Joel 3:18. And Joel 3:18 has a cross-reference to Amos 9:13.) Therefore both Joel 3:18 and Amos 9:13 will be a fulfillment of Matthew 26:29 and Mark 14:25. If you think there will be alcoholics and drunkenness around during the Millennium; then you have no perception of the righteousness of the holy Judeo-Christian kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. That will be millennial new wine that will be “the pure blood of the grape” (Deut. 32:14). [See also Genesis 49:12.] The new wine then will be as pure as the Authorized King James New Testament. (see Ps. 12:6, 119:140) That’s why “the new testament” and the ‘new wine’ are both present at the Last Supper in the Synoptic Gospels. Amen. ¶ Also, remember that according to the Bible, “new wine is found in the cluster” (Is. 65:8). By that definition, it would exclude the fermentation process; and thus it is grape juice or as Moses saith “the pure blood of the grape” (Deut. 32:14). The Last Supper was a Jewish Passover meal. They had unleavened bread and unfermented wine: because leaven and fermentation represent sin (1 Cor. 5:6-7; Gal. 5:9).
Consider these Millennial passages from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah:
[The Sabbatical/Millennial Rest and Rule of Jesus Christ.]
"And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it." (Isaiah 25:6-8)
"Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously." (Isaiah 24:23)
"Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures. The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan. And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound." (Isaiah 30:23-26)
"The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing." (Isaiah 14:7)
"And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea." (Isaiah 11:1-9)
"And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh." (Isaiah 66:23-24)
"And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever." (Isaiah 34:9-10)
"The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad
for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall
blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and
singing: the glory of
"The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning

and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob;

And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me." (Is. 65:9-10)
"And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD. And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD." (Is. 66:20-21)

¶Leaven and fermentation are similar processes
by definition. And the Holy
Spirit forbids “leaven” in Galatians 5:9. The same chapter says “drunkenness”
(v. 21) is a sin or a work of the flesh.
And in this same Book of Galatians, the Apostle Paul asks the question:
“...is therefore Christ the minister of sin?” (Gal. 2:17) And promptly answers “God
forbid.” But if Jesus Christ had made
and given out fermented or alcoholic wine in John 2, He would have broken a
Jewish law from Hab. 2:15-16: and He would have been a minister of sin. (The Books of the Prophets [including
Habakkuk] are considered “law” according to 1 Corinthians 14:21.) If He had, the disciples would have not have believed He was the Holy Messiah—they would
have believed he was the Antichrist!
God’s glory is HOLY: and John
Read Luke 9:56. Alcohol destroys lives. Jesus is the Saviour because He came to save lives, not destroy them. (cf. John 10:10)
Heb.
Luke 7:34 and Matthew 11:19 describe the way members of MMBC were talking about Jesus last night through their liberal and perverted interpretation of John 2.
If Christ had made and served alcohol in John 2 then he
would have broken MANY commandments of passages denouncing wine in the Old
Testament. (That HE inspired [see 1 Tim.
